Villa Necchi Campigli and the Paper Shoes

At the beginning of January I visited Villa Necchi Campiglio, in the heart of Milan.

The house was designed by the architect Piero Portaluppi, who was an icon of elegance and originality in the early 20th century.

With her wonderful paper creations, the artist Isabelle de Borchgrave animated the rooms of the Villa.

The exhibition included thirty paper dresses, representative of the fashion of the time, and a selection of paper footwear with models that still today continue to inspire the young shoe designers.

A friend of mine, Egidio, works in the oldest book shop of our town. He's going to give us few suggestions about what to read during the year.

He started 2017 with Vasily Grossman. He says: "I have an irrepressible need for fredom. Freedom is always above everything, that's why I chose to read Life And Fate by Vasily Grossman"
